Brussels, 08/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission approved inscription of 17 varieties derived from MON 810 maize by Monsanto, the American agri-food giant, in the Common EU Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plant Species. The maize, which has been legally authorised in the Union since 1998, is already grown in Spain.
