Belgium sanctioned for forcing school students from other member States wanting to study at French-speaking Belgian universities to sit special exam

Luxembourg, 02/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Court of Justice has sanctioned Belgium for applying a discriminatory entry system (scrapped in Belgian laws of 3 April 2003) for students with secondary school qualifications from other Member States.

The European Commission lodged the appeal against Belgium, and more specifically the behaviour of the Communauté française de Belgique, responsible for administering education in the French-speaking region of Wallonia and the region of Brussels...
