In the United States, TIME WARNER has offered 4.7 billion dollars in cash and shares to take over MGM. It has thus entered into competition with SONY, which is also interested in the company's prestigious back catalogue of films (the "James Bond", "Rocky" and "Pink Panther" series), for which it has made an offer of 5 billion dollars.
