Brussels, 02/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - The research advisory group EURAB re-elected Helga Nowotny on 15 June as its President (for her second three-year term), and welcomed 21 new members. In the next three years, EURAB will focus on preparations for the 7th EU Framework Programme for Research, the creation of the European Research Council, the mid-term review of FP6 and the link between research and innovation.
EURAB's new bureau members: Helga Nowotny (Director of Society in Science, ETH Zurich), President; Horst Soboll (Research Director, DaimlerChrysler AG), Vice President; Bertil Andersson (European Science Foundation), Vice President; Kari-Pekka Estola (Vice President of Nokia's research centre); Ian Halliday (Particle Physics & Astronomy Research Council); Elisabeth Jaskulké (Suez-Lyonnaise des Eaux); Jerzy Langer (lecturer in physics at the Polish Academy of Science); and Jens Rostrup-Nielsen (Haldor Topsoe A/S).
