02/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - US President George W. Bush has telephoned the new President designate of the Commission, José Manuel Barroso, to congratulate him. A White House spokesman said Bush had said he was happy to be able to continue working with the European Union after the success of the recent Summit in Ireland.
