Frits Bolkestein says no to second term

Brussels, 07/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - According to a Dutch government spokesperson, quoted by Reuters, Commissioner Frits Bolkestein, who is in charge of the internal market, has apparently decided not to seek a second term. "It is a real shame that he does not want to go on, but we are pleased that things are clear and that the selection process can continue", said Gerald van der Wulp, spokesperson to the Dutch Prime Minister.
