Turkey signs protocol on abolition of death penalty in wartime - Commission welcomes the move

Brussels, 09/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Commission welcomed the fact that Turkey had signed protocol No13 of the European Convention on Human Rights in favour of abolishing the death penalty during wartime. The Commission welcomed this "very good news".
