ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) breweries

The Belgian group INTERBREW has increased its stake in the South Korean brewery ORIENTAL BREWERY (national market share of 42%) from 50% to 95%, an investment which cost INTERBREW EUR 612 million. Its Korean partner DOOSAN exercised a sales option granting INTERBREW 100% of the Dutch HOPS COOPERATIEVEN company. The latter has a 45% holding in ORIENTAL BREWERY. The remaining 5% will be controlled by DOOSAN.
