ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) medical equipment

US group GE - GENERAL ELECTRIC has sold off OSI SYSTEMS its SPACELABS MEDICAL division (turnover USD 150 million in 2003), specialised in the manufacture of medial monitors. This subsidiary was controlled by the Finnish company, Instrumentarium, recently acquired by GE. This sale was an essential condition for obtaining a green light from the European competition authorities for the take-over.
