According to UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development), foreign direct investment to Armenia jumped by 70% in 2002 to USD 150 million as opposed to USD 88 million in 2001. Uzbekistan, on the other hand, experienced a steep decline in inflows; down form USD 65 million from USD 570 million in 2001. In Europe, Malta has experienced a decline in investment inflows since 1999 when DIA reached record levels of USD 815 million.
