Future of Europe: President Prod's vision

The European Commission has diffused on its site, in several languages, President Romano Prod's document on "Europe: the dream and the choices". It is a document on the future of Europe and not a political "manifesto", a Commission spokesperson assured last week. The text has gained support but also provoked criticism, sometimes violent, in Italy as well as in the European Institutions, more for the time of its presentation than for its content (see in particular EUROPE of 13 November, p.5,...
