Parliament approves recommendation on cancer screening and calls for continued assessment of new tests

Strasbourg, 20/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the report by the Italian Antonio Mussa (Alleanza Nazionale), the European Parliament approved, with a few amendments, the Council's proposed recommendation relating to cancer screening. This text, which will be submitted to Health Ministers during the Council on 1 and 2 December, insists on the need to establish early and high quality screening programmes at the national level.
