Parliament welcomes certain advances made at Rome summit but regrets declarations by Silvio Berlusconi on Chechnya

Strasbourg, 20/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday the European Parliament adopted a resolution from the EPP-ED, PES, Greens-EFA, ELDR, GUE/NGL groups and from Gerard Collins from the UEN) in which it welcomed the concrete results from the EU/Russia summit on 6 November in Rome, but condemned the fact that the final declaration had not tackled some sensitive issues (for the debate, EUROPE yesterday p 7).
