Peter Straub, First Vice-President of Committee of the Regions, likely to become its President in February 2004

Brussels, 20/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The President of the Landtag of Baden-Württemberg (Germany), Peter Straub, is the new First Vice-President of the Committee of the Regions. He was elected on Wednesday by members of the Committee, having been proposed by the EPP group. "Appointed by a large majority of votes, Peter Straub has every chance of becoming President of the COR in February 2004", indicated the Committee.
