Spain and UK asked for more information on travellers' rights to bring home alcohol and tobacco

Brussels, 12/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has sent formal requests for information to the United Kingdom and Spain, which both limit the quantities of alcohol and tobacco travellers can bring back home with them. The Commission recognises the need to fight against excise duty fraud, but feels measures taken by both States are disproportionate.
