Brussels, 12/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The publication by Romano Prodi of a 55-page document presented by the Italian press as a "manifesto" inviting the Italian centre-left to unite with a view to European elections in June 2004, caused a storm in Brussels and in Italy where some members of majority parties even called for the Commission president to resign.
