European agency for cooperation in management of EU's external borders should be operational in 2005, European Commission says

Brussels, 12/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - As the European Council of 16 and 17 October in Brussels had requested of it, the European Commission proposed, on 11 November, at the initiative of Commissioner Antonio Vitorino, a regulation on the creation of an agency for management of operational EU external border cooperation within the context of an action plan to combat illegal immigration (see EUROPE of 16 October, p.10, and 18 October, p.10).
