Towards political agreement in Council on Monday on residence for European citizens and their families

Brussels, 18/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The "Competition" Council may reach political agreement on Monday on the conditions for granting and the control of residence rights for EU citizens and their families. Some disagreement persists, including on points related to social debate, for instance the recognition of unmarried and same-sex couples. The proposal presented by the Commission's "Justice and Home Affairs" services will be dealt with by the "Competition" Council under Community...
