ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banking

British bank, ABBEY NATIONAL, has sold its Italian subsidiary, which specialises in loans for mortgages, to the second largest Italian bank UNICREDITO ITALIANO for EUR 65.5 million. The Italian subsidiary of ABBEY NATIONAL employs around 250 at its HQ in Milan, has 14 agencies in the country and has £ 3 bn in immovable property assets.
