ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) defence

The number one in defence, LOCKHEED MARTIN, is going to purchase the TITAN company for USD 1.8 bn. TITAN (turnover USD 1.4 bn in 2002 with workforce of 11,000) provides information technology and telecommunication to the US government. The price offered by LOCKHEED MARTIN for TITAN is around 22 dollars per share. If TITAN's debt of USD580 millions is included, the deal is worth USD 2.4 bn.
