Council decides to apply sanctions against junta immediately

Luxembourg, 16/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - In its conclusions on Myanmar, adopted on Monday in Luxembourg, the External Relations Council calls for the immediate release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and of the other members of the National League for Democracy (LND), as well as for the offices of the LND and the universities to be opened.
