Harsh criticisms in Parliament of Presidency statement on 10 October elections

Brussels, 22/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - In a statement to Parliament on Wednesday on the 10 October legislative elections in Pakistan, Council president Bertel Haarder noted that "there were many criticisms of the attitude of President Musharraf before the elections, but one has to recognise that the elections mark an important step forward in implementing democracy in Pakistan".
