Brussels, 16/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - As expected, the European Commission has decided to address warnings to Italy and Spain over decrees the two countries have adopted to counter EDF's offensive in their energy sector (see yesterday's EUROPE, page 13). The Commission regards the decrees as contrary to the rules on the free movement of capital, as they limit the voting rights of public undertakings investing in privatised companies in the energy sector.
