16/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - European Commissioner Chris Patten, on visit to Amman, repeated that the EU hopes the question of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq's possession would be settled through the UN. If Saddam Hussein disarms and rids his country of these weapons, Mr Patten said according to Reuters, then he believes there will be an end to this talk of war.
