EFPIA calls on Parliament to safeguard economic interests of pharmaceutical industry

Brussels, 16/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - On the eve of the vote at first reading on review of pharmaceutical legislation, which is to take place next week in Strasbourg, the European Federation of Pharmaceuticals Industries and Associations (EFPIA) made an appeal to the European Parliament urging it to agree to harmonise protection of clinical data at ten years, without authorising access to such data for generics manufacturers before expiry of this time.
