25/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Danish Presidency also proposes that the Council approve a recommendation on the treatment of drug addicts in prison. In this proposal of a non-binding text, Denmark above all proposes that drug addicts should be kept in separate, drug-free areas and be subject to urine tests. Also, once released from prison, they should have a secure place in a public structure where they may receive advice from social and health services.
