Commission takes France before the Court for what it considers disproportionate use of sanctions for failure to declare money transfers

Brussels, 24/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to initiate infringement proceedings against France at the Court of Justice, because it considers as disproportionate the customs sanctions applied in the case of failure to comply with the obligation to declare money transfers abroad amounting to over EUR 7,622.45 (FF 50,000).
