Brussels, 24/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the report by Giorgios Katiforis (PSE Greece) this week, the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Committee has opted for a compromise with the Council and the European Commission. The report sets the level of cigarette duties at 57% of the sales price, with a minimum duty of EUR 60 per 1000 cigarettes.
