Commissioner Poul Nielson goes to India on first official mission (28 January - 2 February)

Brussels, 24/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - Poul Nielson, European Commissioner responsible for development policy and humanitarian aid is off to India on Monday for his first official visit, one year after the earthquake that devastated the State of Gujarat in January 2001. His aim is twofold: on the one hand, to discuss, on the ground, appropriate humanitarian aid for the victims, through Echo (Community's humanitarian office) and the needs of the regeneration of the devastated areas, and, on...
