24/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - France will not seek to replace Vice President of the European Central Bank (ECB). Christian Noyer, whose mandate comes to and end in May, with another French national. According to the German newspaper, Handelsblatt, French sources suggest that France will for no longer apply for a post on the board of the ECB, and instead, concentrate on replacing Wim Duisenberg, the current ECB President when he resigns.
