United Kingdom's alleged idea of setting up "super council" rejected by Commission and denied by London

Brussels, 22/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Monday the European Commission roundly rejected the idea reported in the Financial Times as emanating from the United Kingdom of suggesting reforming the EU's decision-making bodies to create a "super Council" based on the United Nations' Security Council. The British government denied that it was considering such an issue. According to the FT's report, the idea would mean giving greater power to the three biggest EU Member States (Germany, France...
