Brussels, 22/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - The conservative party (ÖVP) in the Austrian government coalition have given assurances that they will not oppose the Czech Republic joining the EU, despite the success of an Austria-wide petition organised by the Far Right FPÖ, which is also part of the ruling coalition.
