Finance ministers support broad outline of Spanish economic and financial priorities, but comment on electricity liberalisation plans

Brussels, 22/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - European finance ministers approved the broad outlines of the Spanish Presidency's economic and finance programme, during a public debate at the beginning of the ECOFIN Council on Tuesday, chaired by the Spanish Economics Minister, Rodrigo Rato. They all welcomed the Presidency highlighting the importance of setting more detailed Broad Economic Policy Guidelines, continuing with financial market integration and updating the job market.
