22/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Assembly of European Regions calls on the Spanish Presidency to further involve regions in the European scene. "It appears to me that the Spanish central government is very reluctant to involve the regions in the decision-making process at European level" stresses its President, Liese Prokop, calling, notably, on Spain, as on other Member States, to have regional elected politicians participate in their national delegations in Council.
