European employers want the removal of certain ambiguities in the Charter and calls for extension of qualified majority voting to several fields

Brussels, 12/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - In the perspective of the Biarritz Summit, UNICE (European employers) has launched an appeal to the French Presidency of the Council on three issues that it holds dear, these are: (a) the Charter of Fundamental Rights. European employers welcome it but stress that it has not to extend the powers of the EU. In addition, UNICE Secretary General Dirk Hudig said that "the final version of the Charter must remove the ambiguities that remain" in the way...
