12/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commissioner for Trade, Pascal Lamy, and the Vietnamese Minister, Vu Khoan, have signed a bilateral agreement on textile trade (220/2002) and the memorandum of understanding on the control of shoe exports, enforced in a transitional manner since January 2000. The textile agreement reduces by 30% the restrictions imposed on Vietnamese exports and opens around 20% of the Vietnamese market to European products, indicated the Commission.
