In Germany, LUFTHANSA is to acquire 24.9% of the capital of EUROWINGS (turnover DM 729 million in 1999 with over 3 million passengers carried), ranking third nationally in the sector, a stake that it plans to increase later while remaining below 49%. The amount of the transaction has not been revealed.
