UNICE calls for European patent for software - European Commission has not yet taken decision

Brussels, 22/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European employers' organisation (UNICE) is calling on the European Commission to act swiftly to harmonise national legislation on patents in the field of software-related inventions. Scheduled for July, this proposal should have been presented at the same time as that on the creation of a Community patent, but it is still awaited.
