ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) insurance

AGF, the French subsidiary of German insurance company ALLIANZ is undergoing exclusive negotiations with the US group HARTFORD INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL SERVICES for the acquisition of all of its Dutch subsidiary ZWOLSCHE ALGEMEENE (turnover EUR 383 million in 1999 with 600 employed). The acquisition would allow AGF to increase its turnover in the Netherlands to EUR 1.23 billion.
