Brussels, 14/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Sugar Management Committee approved, on Wednesday evening, a reduction of 498,800 tonnes in production quotas for the sugar sector during the 2000/2001 harvest year. The volume of national quotas is thus brought down from 15,218,585 to 14,719,786 tonnes. The European Commission should formally adopt this regulation during next week.
