ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

The French bank CAI - CREDIT AGRICOLE INDOSUEZ launched a take-over bid on CPR - COMPANIE PARISIENNE DE REESCOMPTE (net profit of EUR 39.6 million in the first quarter 2000_ of which it is the main shareholder with 29.4% of the capital. CAI is offering EUR 58 per share, which values the company at EUR 704 million.
