14/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - The President of the Italian Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, visited, on 12 September in Ispra, the European Joint Research Centre where he was welcomed by Commissioner Philippe Busquin who presented him the Centre's activities, notably with regard to the protection of the environment, food safety, the safety of information systems and nuclear safety.
