Commission addresses a formal notice to France, Portugal and Luxembourg for non-transposition of liberalisation Directive, while welcoming global progress in opening of markets

Brussels, 13/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - As anticipated by EUROPE last week, the European Commission send letter of formal notice to France, Portugal and Luxembourg, for not having passed on the laws for the transposition of the Directive on the liberalisation of gas, in force since the 10 August. A similar letter should be sent to Germany in the coming weeks. Furthermore, the Commission will analyse in detail over the coming months the texts for its transposition by other Member States.
