So as to escape a hostile PTO (public tender offering) of USD 1.04 billion from its fellow ISP - INTERNATIONAL SPECIALITY PRODUCTS, the American DEXTER (turnover of USD 1.04 billion in 1999) intends to sell its specialised polymer division - with the exception of coverings - and its non-weaved papers to the German HENKEL and the Finnish AHLSTROM. HENKEL will pay USD 400 million and AHLSTROM USD 275 million to acquire these activities.
