Bilateral summit on Monday in Lisbon to confirm healthy relations and announce several new initiatives

Brussels / Ottowa, 23/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Union and Canada are to hold their twice-yearly summit meeting on Monday 26 June, in Lisbon. Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Guterres will chair the meeting where the prevailing mood will be one of cooperation, with the participation of his Canadian counterpart Jean Chrétien, the President of the European Commission Romano Prodi, as well as Lloyd Axworthy, Jaime Gama, Chris Patten, Pierre Pettigrew, Osvaldo Sarmento e Castro and Pascal...
