Warsaw, 23/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - Information from Polish sources (cited by the daily Rzeczpospolita) states that the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) is to open an office in Warsaw. The financing of this office will be covered by funds amounting to EUR 3.5 million over two years, under the Phare programme, in the aim of strengthening the control capacities of the Polish customs services. The OLAF arm is in fact established with the Polish general customs inspectorship.
