ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

The Austrian bank BACA - BANK AUSTRIA CREDITANSTALT took control of the Polish bank PBK - POWSZECHNY BANK KREDYTOWY with the acquisition of an additional 10.29% of its capital, for 336 million zlotys, increasing its total stake to 57.29%. The market capitalisation of PBK, which has 332 agencies and branches in Poland and a workforce of 8,618 people, totals EUR 689 million. It should merge, before the end of the year, with BANK AUSTRIA CREDITANSTALT POLAND SA, 100% controlled by BACA.
