Commission grants EUR 1 million to co-finance World Bank programme in favour of African Virtual University

Brussels, 29/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission will participate to the value of EUR 1 million in a World Bank programme centred on training for information technologies in the framework of higher education in sub-Saharan Africa. The European Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid, Poul Neilson, signed the co-financing agreement.
