According to Italy, Commission should not have more than twenty Commissioners, with an "absolute equality" in rotation between Member States - Seixas da Costa group discusses, on Tuesday, formation of Commission and weighting of votes in Council

Brussels, 29/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Intergovernmental Conference preparatory group on institutional reform chaired by Francisco Seixas de Costa will again broach, during its meeting of Tuesday 30 May in Brussels, two delicate problems relating to the Amsterdam "leftovers" or "triangle": size and composition of European Commission and weighting of votes in Council (see EUROPE of 26 May, pages 3 to 5, debates by EP Constitutional Committee on this subject).
