ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) gas

The German energy group RWE is to increase its share in THYSSENGAS (turnover EUR 790 million in 1999), the fifth largest German company for the import and long-haulage transport of gas, to 75%, by acquiring the 25% held by ESSO DEUTSCHLAND. The remaining 25% belong to the Anglo-Dutch group SHELL. No financial details were revealed concerning this move.
